I don't know why I'm on this earth.
It all seems so pointless. My life and everything.
Everyday I try to sell people stuff they don't want by convincing
them of how much money it'll save their company and how much
easier it'll make their work. But in the end who cares?
I sell computer software to companies.
I just sort of fell into it. I'm good at it I guess. I made
a lot of money in the 90's during the tech boom. I still do
okay. At least we still have our house and food on the table.
Yeah, I'm bored with it. I do care for my wife and kids and
it helps knowing that I'm providing for them. But should I
be slaving away in a job that's sucking the life out of me just
to provide for my family.
You're right. I have lost heart.
I used to enjoy skiing - water skiing in the summer and snow
skiing in the winter. I also liked being an usher at church.
But I've been too busy.
Well, skiing is adventurous. It's exhilarating. I like to
go to new places and meet new people. I guess it was the same
with ushering, the meeting people part I mean.
I suppose I could take my kids skiing with me.
I don't know what else. I don't think I want to go back to
ushering. They've been asking for volunteers to help in the
kids' Sunday School classes. That might be good. I could be
with my kids, help out, and meet other volunteers and kids.
I do love kids. They just put a smile on my face.
Probably I should try having more fun and enjoying my family
more. That might take some of the pressure off the way I'm
feeling about my job. Thanks for caring.
